Stuck On Ideas For A Wedding Car Try An Elephant

July 16, 2008

An Indian groom living in Washington, DC turned more than a few heads this week when he and his family paraded down Pennsylvania Avenue - not far from the White House – in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony. The groom, Manan Shah, arrived at the ceremony atop Minnie, a 7,000-lb Asian elephant, dressed in her wedding finery. (This wasn’t Minnie’s first gig as a wedding car!)

Shah, 28, and his bride, Swati Raval, 26, were joined by hundreds of family members – many of whom had traveled from India for the festivities. As a young boy in India, Shah had seen an elephant deliver a groom to his bride and he wanted to recreate the same entrance. Once at the site of the wedding, the bride made her own spectacular entrance in front of about 400 guests.

Minnie the Elephant, who is 35, was brought down from her home in Goshen, Connecticut for the event. She has appeared in numerous advertisements, loves the attention, and is accustomed to “working the crowds.” In addition to the wedding in Washington, Minnie also made an appearance at a wedding in Boston the next day. She’ll return to Washington, DC this autumn for … you guessed it… another wedding.

Arriving in Style

December 14, 2007

Wedding Cars play an important role in the impression that you make on your wedding guests as well as the simple pleasure that you as a couple will feel from riding in luxury. That is why it is important to choose wedding cars that will have you and your bridal party arriving in style!

Long gone are the days where a couple had to order a limousine to carry them and their bridal party to their wedding ceremony and reception. Of course, this is still a wonderful option for couples, but many couples are choosing different wedding cars that make a statement about their style as a couple.

The term “wedding cars” refers to any mode of transportation that will get you and your bridal party where they need to be. This means that you can order a Rolls Royce or arrive in an old VW bus. Regardless of which car you choose, it is henceforth known as your wedding car.

When you want to arrive in style at your wedding, make sure that it is your style that you will be expressing. When you enter and exit your wedding car, you should feel exhilarated. Riding in a luxury car or a classic car can make anyone feel like royalty. Arriving in a convertible or even on motorcycles elicits an entirely different response! While most couples will choose their wedding cars in order to impress their guests, it is important to consider what you will feel most comfortable with.

There are no rules when it comes to wedding cars and arriving in style. Who is to say what “style” is appropriate and standard for any wedding. It is your choice. Choose a limousine for a traditional feel. Choose a Rolls Royce for a regal feel. Choose a convertible for a lighthearted feel. Choose a horse-drawn carriage for a fairytale feel! It is your wedding and your wedding cars should make you feel like you are arriving in style!

A Guide to Non-Traditional Wedding Cars

August 8, 2007

Every couple has the image of a perfect wedding. Within this image is generally a grand entrance and exit. This is the opportunity to showcase their personal style and taste. There are limitless options when it comes to wedding cars. The bride and groom, who want to make a real statement, may want to choose from some of the finer non-traditional wedding cars available.

When most people think of weddings, they picture the bride and groom arriving and departing in a limousine or perhaps a Rolls Royce. This is still an excellent choice in wedding cars if the bride and groom are having a traditional, classic wedding. Even if the wedding will be traditional, the couple can decide to make their entrance is one of these non-traditional wedding cars.

One of the most popular options in non-traditional wedding cars is a convertible or other high-end vehicle that the bride and groom would love to own but can only afford to rent. These cars are excellent choices as long as the bride and groom are either willing to drive themselves, hire someone to drive them, or have a friend or family member drive. These cars are often close quarters and so a bride with a large gown will need to be especially careful. One of the biggest benefits of choosing these high-end vehicles as wedding cars is that they may be rented for a number of days at a reasonable price as compared to a limousine that is rented by the hour.

Another option in non-traditional wedding cars involves the entire bridal party. Many companies now own stretch SUV’s that will accommodate the entire bridal party. These are similar to limousines but are much larger and make a bigger impact. Other couples may choose to hire a party bus. These are small buses that are decked out with all of the accommodations one would expect in a limousine or other wedding cars. This is an excellent option for the bride and groom who want to travel, talk, and party with their bridal party. These can be a little more expensive than other wedding cars, but are worth the money to create the perfect wedding day.

Sometimes, non-traditional wedding cars are not cars at all. The very adventurous bride and groom may choose to arrive and depart on motorcycles or a motorcycle with a sidecar. This will really make a statement. Other couples may go the more romantic route and hire a horse drawn carriage for their big day. This is generally only an option when the ceremony and reception are nearby. These two non-traditional choices may not be wedding cars, but they will get the bride and groom where they need to be while making a big splash.

Every couple wants to have the wedding of their dreams and every couple deserves to have this dream come true. Non-traditional wedding cars can help to achieve that dream and make memories that will last a lifetime!

The Most Traditional Wedding Cars

August 1, 2007

Wedding cars are generally not on the top of the list during the wedding planning process, that is unless the groom has made it a priority. Eventually, when all of the major decisions have been made, the bride and groom will need to choose between several options of wedding cars. It is easiest to stick to the most traditional wedding cars, especially when the wedding is going to be a traditional and classic occasion.

The most traditional of all wedding cars is the limousine. The limousine is available in a variety of colors and sizes, making it one of the best options for a couple planning a traditional wedding. A limousine can be used to transport the bride and groom and even their entire bridal party based on the size of the limousine. Any couple will show up in style when choosing to order a limousine for their wedding day. The limousine is also one of the easiest wedding cars to rent for a wedding and comes complete with a chauffer.

Another one of the most traditional wedding cars is the Rolls Royce. These cars are beautiful and classic. The drawback is that there is generally only enough room for the bride and groom. This is an excellent option if the bride and groom choose to ride privately in a beautiful, chauffeured vehicle. The Rolls Royce is the ultimate choice in traditional wedding cars.

Traditional wedding cars are most often classic car choices. When the bride and groom want to ride in style similar to the Rolls Royce, but want a more updated and unique option, there is the Bentley. Bentley’s are known for their expensive price tag and unique style. While most people cannot ever fathom owning a Bentley, they can enjoy a romantic day together riding in style in this classic car. The Bentley is also going to only hold the bride and groom, but is one of the grandest options when it comes to traditional wedding cars.

When it comes to transportation, there are options that go beyond traditional wedding cars but still stick with tradition. These options involve horses. The bride and groom may choose to use a horse drawn carriage or even a horse drawn sleigh during the winter months. This is one of the more romantic options available, but many reject it due to the expense. It is also not a practical option when the ceremony site is far from the reception site. The bride and groom can take this ride and enjoy their time together in a peaceful, romantic setting. There is nothing more traditional than a horse drawn carriage.

The bride and groom will need transportation to the ceremony, from the ceremony to the reception, and departing from the reception. The couple has each of these occasions to make grand entrances and exits. Any of these wedding cars will stand up to tradition while the couple rides in comfort and style.

Wedding Cars: Check Out All Options

July 25, 2007

The details of wedding planning can be stressful for every bride and groom. One of the fun choices that the couple will get to make is choosing from all of the possibilities of wedding cars. While many couples feel that their only option is the standard limousine, there are wedding cars that will showcase the personality and taste of the bride and groom while they ride in style.

One of the most popular, non-traditional wedding cars is the classic car. This could be any classic car that fits into the style of the couple. It can be difficult to find classic cars that are rented out. It is easiest if the bride and groom know someone who owns one or knows someone who knows someone who owns one. Classic cars are everywhere, but often kept safe in a garage. It will take a little homework in order to secure one of these, but it is worth it to make a grand entrance and exit.

Another option in wedding cars is the convertible. The bride and groom can choose to be chauffeured or drive it away themselves. Either way, the convertible is a way that the couple can show off their fun and wild side! Picture the wind blowing the veil behind the bride. It is a stunning site. This is also one of the best options in wedding cars because these can generally be rented by the day rather than by the hour. It can be a less expensive option and the couple may choose to keep the car for several days to enjoy.

It is perfectly acceptable for any couple to choose the classic look of the limousine. This is the standard in wedding cars. This is an excellent option for those couples that want to maintain tradition and are having a simple and classic wedding. This is also great for the bride and groom who want to be able to travel with their wedding party. The limousine is still the classic choice in wedding cars.

For the bride and groom who want the same classic look but want to go beyond the limousine, there are two other excellent choices in wedding cars. These are the Rolls Royce and the Bentley. These cars are known for their beauty and style. The couple will need to hire a chauffer and the couple will not be able to travel with their wedding party, but these two options will make a lasting impression on all of the wedding guests.

There are new wedding cars available that are perfect for the bride and groom with a large bridal party. It has become quite popular for companies to manufacture stretch SUV’s. These are just as lush as limousines but hold more people and showcase an entirely different style. Another option is the party bus. These buses are also decked out with all of the accommodations found in a limousine, but will hold an entire bridal party. This is a great choice for those who want to have a party while they travel. These two options in wedding cars are perfect for the couple that wants to travel with their friends and family.

Any of these wedding cars will fit in with perfectly with whatever plans the bride and groom have made for their wedding. Each of these choices will display a different and unique style!

Wedding Cars that Make a Statement

July 17, 2007

On the day of the wedding, the bride will need transportation to the ceremony, then the bride and groom will ride together to the reception, and finally, they will make their departure after the reception. This should be done in a style that fits the wedding and personal style of the bride and groom. There are many different types of wedding cars to choose from that will make a statement.

When it comes to wedding cars, the standard has been a chauffer driven limousine. This is the ideal choice for a couple that is throwing a classic and simple wedding. It is also one of the least expensive options. For the bride and groom who are throwing an elegant and classic wedding, but want to go one step above the limousine, there is the option of the Rolls Royce. The Rolls Royce is an excellent upgrade from the limousine. It is classy, elegant, and classic. The bride and groom will make a true entrance arriving in one of these wedding cars.

Some couples have a wild streak to their personalities. Even if the wedding will be traditional, the bride and groom can make a big statement by choosing one of these exceptional wedding cars. The bride and groom with a fun personality can choose to drive away in a classic convertible. Everyone has seen the pictures with the bride’s veil streaming out behind her as the wind blows. This is a wonderful choice for the bride and groom who are also on a budget and the car can generally be rented for several days at an inexpensive price. A truly adventurous couple may choose to arrive and depart on a motorcycle and sidecar. Most brides are not this adventurous while wearing a big, white gown, but this will surely make the statement that the bride and groom imagined!

Some brides and grooms choose to travel with their entire bridal party. This has become quite popular and so the demand for larger wedding cars has been met. One of these wedding cars is the traditional stretch limousine. Again, this is for a classic wedding. The couple that wants to make a truly unique entrance may choose to rent a stretch SUV such as an Escalade. These wedding cars will accommodate a lot of people while the guests look on in awe. This is one of the most expensive options and therefore will make that impression. Finally, there is always the option of choosing the wedding bus. This is generally a short bus that is fitted with comfortable seating and upgrades that would be expected for a wedding vehicle. Each of these wedding cars will allow the bride and groom to travel in style with their entire wedding party.

Among all of the decisions that the bride and groom must make while wedding planning, choosing from the options of wedding cars is one of the most fun. The couple can choose a car that befits their personal styles while meeting their specific needs. The choices for wedding cars are almost limitless!

Wedding Cars: to Chauffeur, or not to Chauffeur?

June 13, 2007

When hiring a wedding car, one question to ask yourself is whether you wish to have a chauffeur or to do the driving yourself.

Why hire a chauffeur?
Who doesn’t like to be pampered? Having your very own chauffeur to drive your wedding car is an indulgence that many couples enjoy immensely. First of all, it’s just plain classy. You’ll feel special every time the chauffeur opens the door for you and respectfully greets you as “Mr. and Mrs.”

More important, having a chauffeur allows you to concentrate on the events of the day, rather than concerning yourself with traffic, getting lost, parking, and all of the other worries that come with driving. Imagine that you’ve just gotten married. Wouldn’t you rather spend your first moments together as man and wife relaxing in the back seat of your wedding car, rather than driving? While you two lovebirds simply enjoy the ride and each other’s company, your chauffeur will take you wherever you need to go, effortlessly. Why drive, when you can snuggle up with each other (and perhaps a little champagne) in the back seat?

Another reason to hire a chauffeur is for peace of mind. Should you happen to be involved in an accident as a passenger in your wedding car, your chauffeur may be counted on to take care of the attendant paperwork and hassles involved. Most chauffeurs are fully insured and safety-conscious to ensure the well-being of their passengers.

Why drive your own wedding car?
Let’s face it—driving can just be FUN! If you love the feel of the road under your feet, or the wind in your hair, you may wish to drive your wedding car yourself. Many couples who hire wedding cars enjoy the thrill of driving themselves to and from the events of the wedding day. If you can’t afford to buy that gleaming Jaguar, or don’t want the maintenance involved in owning a classic convertible, hiring one to drive as your wedding car can be a luxurious indulgence that you’ll never forget.

Driving your own wedding car also offers something that a chauffeur can’t—complete privacy. Some couples may not feel comfortable with a stranger taking part in their special day together (no matter how unobtrusive a chauffeur may be). They may feel more inhibited in speech or action than if they were simply alone together; the couple may not feel free to “be themselves.” If you prefer to keep your private moments just that, then driving your own wedding car may be the best option for you.

Another great aspect of driving your wedding car is that you have total freedom to do whatever you like. Some couples decide to hire their wedding car overnight, which opens up many possibilities. Want to hit the open road after your reception and just go wherever the road takes you? You can do it, without worrying about a chauffeur being on the clock. You can take your wedding car from the reception directly to that charming little bed-and-breakfast you both love, stopping along the route whenever and wherever the fancy takes you.

But what’s the hardest part of driving your own wedding car? Deciding who gets to drive first!

Choosing Your Wedding Cars

May 14, 2007

Now that you’re getting ready for your wedding, there are a million details to take care of. From ordering the cake to planning the honeymoon, it’s an exciting time! In all the hustle and bustle, though, don’t forget one of the most important details: the wedding cars.

Finding the right wedding car may require a lot of searching, as you want the car to match the style and theme of your event. If you’re having a modern, casual wedding, you might choose a flashy new convertible as your wedding car. On the other hand, if your ceremony and reception will be more traditional, a classic or vintage wedding car may be exactly what you’re after.

Here are some helpful tips when choosing your wedding cars.

  1. Go for quality over price. That bargain-basement wedding car you’ve hired won’t seem like such a bargain if it arrives with scratches and dings—or worse, if it breaks down! Inspect each car you’re considering for cleanliness, polished surfaces, and visible damage. If it doesn’t look good on the outside, chances are that the operator hasn’t taken very good care of the motor, either.
  2. Book with a reliable operator. Check out the operator with your local business bureau to see if any complaints have been registered. Be aware that some companies subcontract wedding cars from other operators. To avoid problems, make sure the wedding car you select is actually owned by the operator you’ve chosen. The more people involved in the transaction, the more complicated it will be, and the more likely it is that a mix-up will occur.
  3. Make sure that the exact car you reserve is the one that you will receive—guaranteed. Operators do sometimes substitute one wedding car for another, so be sure that the specific car you select is reserved by its registration number.
  4. Find out what your operator will do for you if your wedding car should break down. Many operators have spare wedding cars available should this happen. The best response, though, is “We keep our cars in such great shape that we’ve never had one break down!”
  5. Ask for references. If you aren’t sure that an operator will be reliable, talking to past customers can help tip the scales either for or against. Naturally, the operator will refer you to customers who were very happy with the wedding cars and services they received. However, if the operator can provide dozens of satisfied customers like these, that speaks volumes about their business.
  6. Book well in advance. There are only so many wedding cars available for hire, especially if you are looking for a particular vintage model. The best cars go quickly, so it’s a good idea to look for cars many months before your wedding day.

Hiring Wedding Cars

April 18, 2007

Hiring a wedding car is a fantastic way to make a splash on your big day. Whether you fancy a vintage Rolls Royce or a striking modern Jaguar, a chauffeured limousine or a self-drive Mustang, you’ll arrive in style and give your guests a memory they’ll never forget.

Hiring several cars for a wedding is customary. For the arrival at the church, one car carries the bride and her father. The wedding party and groom arrive in another car (or cars), as do immediate family members. After the ceremony, it is the bride and groom who depart together for the reception, followed by the wedding party and the family.

Chauffeured limousines are one of the most popular options in wedding cars. Many companies offer special rates for multiple cars. Complete packages often include champagne and snacks, white satin ribbons to decorate the cars, and even a red carpet to roll out.

Vintage cars also make a wonderful and romantic impression at a wedding. Just picture the heads turning when you roar up to the church in a fully restored, cherry-red 1960s Mustang! Or perhaps a 1930s ivory Beauford convertible is the wedding car of your dreams, with its gleaming silver trim, leather interior, and glowing, polished woodwork.

For a more contemporary look, many couples choose a modern luxury car. A sleek Mercedes-Benz or an elegant Chrysler 300C is an impressive and glamorous car to hire for a wedding. For an offbeat, dynamic wedding car, some couples even decide on a Hummer!

A photo shoot is often part of the fun when you hire a wedding car. The bride and groom may be photographed against famous scenic backgrounds or in lush outdoor settings. What could be a better memory than a snapshot of you and your new partner, poised to make your getaway in a stylish wedding car. Classic colours for wedding cars include silver, ivory, charcoal, and black. For a bolder look, you might choose a stunning sapphire, rich turquoise, or another colour that complements the wedding party’s wardrobe or matches the theme of the reception.

For those hopeless romantics out there, your fairytale wedding car may not be a wedding car at all, but an antique horse-drawn carriage. Bedecked with fine livery, drawn by a pair of matching horses, and guided by your own private driver, a horse-drawn carriage can add that dream-come-true feeling to your special day.

With so many options available, you’re sure to find the perfect wedding car to hire. From the moment you pull up to the church to your joyous departure from the reception, the right car makes your wedding complete!
