For The Love Of Milk

The life of a dairy farmer is difficult, and requires dedication that often leaves little time for socialising. Inspired by milk carton adverts, bachelor dairy farmer Geraint Evans of Wrexham in Wales took the concept one step further and advertised himself on cartons of milk produced on his farm in the hope of landing a bride.

To his delight, the tactic worked and Mr. Evans is now engaged to be married to an American interior design student who encountered Evans’ ad while on holiday in the UK. Chicago student Laura Alison contacted Evans when she returned to the United States and the pair struck up a friendship via email.

Mr. Evans travelled to Chicago to meet his bride-to-be and her family earlier this year, and Alison has travelled back to the UK with her family to spend time on Evans’ farm. The pair are now making wedding plans, although no date will be set until Alison finishes her studies. Evans says he will move to America if Ms. Alison wants to stay in the US, but he’d like her to join him in Wales.
