Katharine McPhee is engaged

Former American Idol contestant and singer Katharine McPhee is engaged to be married to beau actor Nick Cokas. McPhee, 23, recently received a diamond engagement ring from Cokas, 42. The pair met in 2005 at a theater production of “The Ghost And Mrs. Muir” and McPhee has been spotted in Los Angeles recently wearing the engagement ring.

McPhee was a finalist in the 2006 season of the television programme American Idol. She was eliminated from competition but has gone on to enjoy a blossoming musical career. She released her first album - My Destiny - in 2006 and the single “Somewhere Over My Rainbow” remained on the Billboard Hot Singles chart for more than a year. She was also named one of People Magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People of 2007.

Cokas is a Broadway actor and has had a few minor television roles. The pair have not officially announced their engagement and no details were available on the date of the planned wedding ceremony.
