Prince Joachim of Denmark To Wed In May

Prince Joachim of Denmark will marry his girlfriend, Marie Cavallier, on May 24, 2008. The couple became engaged over the summer on a trip to Turkey. Prince Joachim is the fourth in line to the Dutch throne.
The wedding will take place at Moegeltoender Church in Southern Jutland. Bishop Erik Norman Svendsen will officiate. Guests will enjoy a reception for the royal couple at Schackenborg Castle.
Her Majesty Queen Margrethe gave the couple her permission to marry in October. The bride is a French national who currently resides in Geneva, but will become a Danish citizen, and lose her French citizenship, when she marries. After the wedding, she will assume the royal title Her Royal Highness Princess Marie.
Prince Joachim was previously married to Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg and has two sons, Nikolai and Felix.
