UK Couple Surprised By Wedding Cancellation

A UK couple who’d planned a destination wedding at a Mexican resort were shocked to learn upon arriving that their wedding had been cancelled by mistake. Ann Campbell and Sam Guilford booked a four-week holiday in Mexico, which included a wedding in Cancun. Two days before their planned wedding, the hotel informed the couple that it had no record of the reservation they’d made for wedding services. The wedding and holiday were booked through a travel agent, which said the error was the result of a mixup between itself and the hotel.

Alternative dates proposed by the hotel were unacceptable to the couple because they would have excluded the couples’ families, who were joining them at the resort for the event. The couple had also planned a reception in their home town, which had to be cancelled as well.

The couple have not indicated their future wedding plans. They are expecting their first child in June.
